The Las Vegas community of Roadrunners Internationale is saddened at the loss of Dwight Moe who took his final flight on 27 June 2012. Services were conducted today, 23 July 2012 at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Boulder City, Nevada. Dwight is survived by an older sister who lives in Fullerton, California.
Dwight was born in Portland, Oregon on 24 July 1934. He enlisted into the United States Air Force in January 1952 and spent 19 months, 17 days in the Korean War where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, Koran Presidential Unit Citation, and the United Nations Service Medal. Leaving the Air Force, Dwight went to work for the Central Intelligence Agency where he served at Groom Lake, Nevada during CIA A-12 Project OXCART. At the end of Project Oxcart, he left the CIA to work for Lockheed in California on the L-1011 Tristar. In 1981, he returned to Portland, Oregon where he worked for Wackenhut and a PDS Inspector. Dwight returned to Las Vegas, Nevada with Wackenhut where he continued to work on classified projects until retirement. He was a regular at reunions and events of Roadrunners Internationale. We will miss Dwight.
