Longtime Las Vegas resident Rebecca Andersen, 74, passed away
peacefully on May 10, 2007. Born in 1933 in Oneonta, Alabama, Becky was a
beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and championship golfer. Becky graduated from
Judson College with an education degree and taught high school English and
Physical Education. In recent years she dedicated her time to the PEO, was a
long-time member of Christ Lutheran Church and sang for many years in the
chancel choir. Last December, Becky and her husband of 50 years, Roger Andersen,
celebrated their anniversary in golden style, surrounded by friends and family.
Becky is survived by her husband, Roger, as well as her sister, Dorothy Ryan of
Oneonta, AL. She is also survived by her three sons, Eric of Grapevine, TX, Lee
of Fairfield, CA, and Joe of Duluth, GA. Additionally, she is celebrated by her
three daughters-in law, Ann, Andrea, and Maureen. Her adoring grandchildren
include: Cydney, Kyle, Camille, Caitlin, Grace, Rachel, and Leif. A memorial
will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 111 N. Torrey Pines Dr., on Tuesday, May
15th at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart
Association.
