Keith Spencer

The Roadrunners are saddened to learn of the final flight of former USAF Captain Keith Spencer, 77, of Fountain Valley, California on April 22, 2014. Captain Spencer served as a helicopter pilot with the 1129th SAS at Area 51 from August 1962 to 1965. The Roadrunners remember Captain Spencer flying with Charlie Trapp while placing the towers and equipment of Mount Baldy, providing fire protection at Area 51, supporting CIA A-12 flights, and many other feats for which Captain Spencer and the others received numerous awards. Captain Spencer left the Air Force in 1965 and joined Continental Air Lines where he retired in 1997 as a captain flying 747s. Keith is survived by his spouse, Margerie, a daughter, and grandchildren. He is also remembered as a member Orange County Chapter of the American Society of Dowsers. The Roadrunners salute you, Captain Spencer and extend our condolences to Margerie and family.
