Leander H. Kitten, 80, of Ferdinand, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019, at Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.

Leander was born May 13, 1939, in Ferdinand to Anton & Emma (Horney) Kitten.

Leander retired at Lockheed Aerospace Corporation, Skunk Works Division. He was a member of a professional group "Road Runners International". Leander was a member of Christ the King parish, St. Ferdinand Church. Leander enjoyed genealogy and bicycling. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He is survived by his twin sister, Leona Schue of Ferdinand, and several nieces and nephews.

Leander was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph, Albert, Leonard, and Ralph Kitten. One sister Mary died in infancy.
