Born in Jefferson City, Missouri, John Hathcock graduated from Lincoln University with a BS in Business and Industrial Relations. He also conducted graduate level work in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is also a graduate of the Naval War College, College of Naval Command and Staff in Newport, RI, and the NATO Defense College in Rome, Italy.

Hathcock has had an extensive career in the United States Army from 1972 - 1994. He retired in 1994 with the rank of Colonel. His Areas of emphasis included performance based leadership management, implementation of policies and procedures with primary concentration in Training Technology, Simulations, Acquisition Management, Planning/Analysis, Program Management, Operational Planning, Legislative/Budgetary processes and Human Resources.

His awards include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (5 awards), Scouting's Silver Beaver Award, and Outstanding Young Men of America (1980 & 1982)

John is the owner of Line Group, one of Las Vegas' marketing and promotional products firms. Line Group specializes in promotional products and is a manufacturer's representative and distributor for hundreds of companies and manufacturers, including over 650,000 products. Line Group also provides management and business development consultation services.

John is active in various professional and community organizations to include:

Boy Scouts of America (BSA), National Community Relationships Committee

Las Vegas Northwest Rotary Club

Nevada Development Authority, Technology Committee

University of Nevada Las Vegas, College of Engineering, Advisory Board

Thunderbird Chapter, Air Force Association, Community Partner Committee

John's wife is Susan (Conrad) of Wauseon, Ohio. They have two sons and two daughters.
